Original musical evenings
Devised concerts and small musical-theatre evenings built around ensemble singing, monologues and original dramaturgy.
Non-profit amateur theatre association in Belgrade
We bring actors, vocalists, musicians and theatre lovers together to create community-led performances for young audiences and Belgrade's local cultural scene.
About the association
Kuraž is an udruženje based in Belgrade: a Serbian non-profit citizens' association formed by performers, directors, vocalists, musicians and production volunteers. Our work is built around rehearsals, workshops, staged readings, small-format performances and musical theatre projects.
We focus on accessible theatre for young people, international residents and the local Belgrade community. Members join us from different backgrounds, but the shared standard is serious rehearsal discipline, care for the ensemble and a belief that theatre should make people feel less alone.
Ongoing cultural work
Kuraž is not a commercial production company. We are a cultural association that keeps a steady rhythm of rehearsals, collaborative projects and community events.
Devised concerts and small musical-theatre evenings built around ensemble singing, monologues and original dramaturgy.
Table readings and staged scenes from contemporary and classic Serbian plays, created as a bridge into the local theatre language.
Open rehearsals, voice labs, movement sessions and informal cultural gatherings for young performers and community guests.
Regular vocal coaching, acting work and ensemble practice led by experienced directors, coaches and production organisers.
Upcoming amateur production
Our next major community project is an amateur production of Jonathan Larson's RENT, planned for Belgrade in autumn 2026. We are now gathering the team and preparing the organisational process for a future production.
The project grows naturally out of our ensemble's interests: musical theatre, youth culture, chosen family and stories that speak openly about vulnerability, care and community.
People
Our team combines amateur performers with experienced creative leads: directors, vocal coaches, musicians, movement collaborators and organisers who keep the work structured and accountable.
Directors and dramaturgy collaborators guide rehearsals, scene work and the overall community programme.
A vocal coach and music leads support ensemble singing, audition preparation and musical-theatre technique.
Members coordinate venues, communications, fundraising, rehearsal schedules, costumes and front-of-house needs.
Join the community
We are always happy to meet people who want to sing, act, move, play music, help backstage, organise events or simply follow what is happening in the room. Some members come with stage experience; others join because they want a careful place to learn.
Write to us if you would like to hear about open rehearsals, workshops, auditions, volunteer calls or the nearest informal showings. We keep the atmosphere welcoming, but the work itself is focused and regular.
